THE HISTORY OF THE REDS
Nambour-Yandina United Football Club was formed in 1997; amalgamating two great earlier clubs the Nambour Reds (founded in 1974) and the Yandina Eagles (founded in 1976). Each Club brought with it their own areas of specialty, one a strong youth backgrounds and the other well established senior teams creating a perfect blend.

CLUB TIMELINE
1974
The Nambour Reds are formed and compete in 3 grades (A Grade, Reserves and Juniors) in the Sunshine Coast Football Association Competition.
- The NYU A Grade Men's team win the Clive Fenn Cup, defeating Woombye 2-1.
- The Men's Reserve team take out the Premiership & the Championship beating Caboolture
3-1, They would also win the Tarax Shield.
- Dick Watson finishes on top of the league with most goals scored (16).
1997
The Nambour Reds merge with the Yandina Eagles (Churches) to become Nambour-Yandina United Football Club.
2009
Hannah Foster and Sam Bennett receive the Sunshine Coast Football Player Of The Year awards in the Female and Male Divisions, respectively.
2014
NYU players and SCF Club Legends Bill Saunders, Dick Watson, Brian DeCourcy and David Maybury are inducted into the Sunshine Coast Football Hall of Fame, to honour their playing contribution to football on the Sunshine Coast during the first 10 years of the revived competition from 1968 to 1977.
2019
The Reds Premier Men team make their first Grand Final appearance since the club merger in 1974, but are defeated by Kawana.
2020
Kiara Rychvalsky is awarded the Female Player Of The Year Award by Sunshine Coast Football.
2021
A year to remember for NYU. 4 Senior teams make the Grand Final, 2 Senior and 2 Junior teams make the Semi-Finals, the Premier Men win the Premiership and we have the most successful women's season to date, boasting teams across every division in Sunshine Coast Football.
- Our Premier Men clinch the first ever Premiership, 47 years after the inception of the club.
- NYU's Premier Women narrowly miss out on a Premiership but go all the way to collect the first Championship for the club, defeating Sunshine Coast Fire 3-0.
- The Premier Reserve Women fight their way into their first Grand Final, only just falling short of their maiden title to Caloundra.
- Our Premiere Reserve Men go toe-to-toe with rivals Woombye Snakes FC in their Grand Final and emerge victorious, sealing the Championship with a 3-2 win.
- The 4th Division Gold Men's team beat the back-to-back undefeated Champions in the Semi Finals to make their first ever Grand Final appearance, but fall to Cooroora FC
- Kiara Rychvalsky finishes the season with the Golden Boot, having scored 19 goals including 2 in the Grand Final.
Inaugural member of the Senior Men's 1974 NYU team David Maybury becomes a Life Member.
2024
A year full of memories. This year we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Nambour Reds, Yandina Eagles and the amalgamation in 1997 when the two clubs became Nambour-Yandina United Football Club.
Earlier in the year we celebrated the Grand Opening of the newly renovated Clubhouse and facilities.
